Why is the graduate program important to you?

It creates a new generation of Knauf Insulation engineers that are versatile — trained and equipped to work in any area the business requires. From the beginning, these multi-functional engineers are trained to handle different projects, motivated to move and work in challenging conditions in different locations.

What does it contribute to Knauf Insulation?

The program helps guarantee the company’s future by creating highly skilled, trustworthy engineers.

How does the program enhance company culture?

People from various countries, cultures, religions and educational backgrounds are bringing valuable diversity to Knauf Insulation’s culture and this creates an open and enjoyable place in which to work.

How does it build on continuous improvement? Safety? And customer-centricity?

From the start trainees are involved in projects related to safety, such as improving the security of different zones in different plants and process improvement projects through the use of Six Sigma tools. This ensures the program satisfies the three main pillars of safety, continuous improvement and customer-centricity.

What lessons from the program would you share?

A comprehensive training program encompassing all technical aspects as well as an introduction to controlling, marketing, supply chain and other areas helps engineers get a helicopter view. This makes it easy for trainees to quickly understand problems and become actively involved in projects and be integrated into teams.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

I would like to have developed skills in product development; business development strategies; customer-centricity and management and be able to apply all these skills in the right position.
